Jakarta - PT Kutai Timber Indonesia was awarded the Environmental Management Award Based on Green Category Company Performance Rating (PROPER) in the 2018 - 2019 period organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).

The award was handed over directly by Mr. Ma'ruf Amin as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and Mrs. Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, M.Sc as Minister of Environment and Forestry on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Indonesian Vice President's Palace, Central Jakarta. The event was attended by 26 companies that received the PROPER award in the gold category and 174 companies that received the PROPER award in the Green category.

PROPER is an attempt by the government under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to encourage companies to increase compliance with environmental management. The lowest ranking categories given are Black, Red, Blue, Green and Gold. Among these categories Green and Gold category is more than the required category (beyond compliance).

The PROPER award was received directly by Mr. Satoshi Kawanami, as the President Director of PT KTI. This award is an achievement received by PT KTI after making various efforts to improve the environment around the area of ​​the company and in other locations included in the mapping and location of the environmental study program.

The efforts made in obtaining this award through the fulfillment of criteria and / or requirements that have been determined by measuring the company's performance through innovation and initiatives that have been carried out by the team.

The requirements towards green / gold PROPER in question are environmental management systems, energy efficiency, emission reduction, 3R B3 and non-B3 waste treatment, biodiversity, water efficiency, community development (CSR), SDG’s.

On its fulfillment, PT KTI publishes scientific journals and patents such as patents of fireproof door panel products, 2 Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), 3 ISBN books and 3 scientific journals.

On its journey, KTI has received Proper Blue in 2009 and 2018. Several obstacles have been successfully overcome by PT KTI towards Green PROPER because it deals with various parties who support the realization of this, however, PT KTI remains committed to doing the continuous improvement.
