PROBOLINGGO – PT Kutai Timber Indonesia (KTI) participated in the launch of SVLK+ and the Export Release of SVLK-Certified Forest Products organized by the Ministry of Forestry on Tuesday via Zoom (December 17, 2024). The event aimed to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian forestry products in international markets through certifications that ensure legality and sustainable forest management.
In his remarks, the Director General of Sustainable Forest Management of the Ministry of Forestry, Dida Migfar Ridha, explained that the implementation of SVLK+ aims to ensure that all exported forest products have a traceable and verifiable origin of raw materials. He emphasized that the spatial technology integrated into the system improves transparency, guarantees product legality, and ensures sustainable, deforestation-free forest management.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohamad Zubair, Executive Officer of PT Kutai Timber Indonesia, reiterated the company's commitment to exporting sustainable and competitive forestry products to international markets. PT KTI has been exporting since 1976 and achieved its 1,132nd export in 2024. KTI's exported products include plywood, woodworking, and particle board, among which plywood is shipped to Japan as a raw material for flooring production.
As a company that exports the majority of its products, KTI consistently adheres to evolving regulations in destination countries, including Japan, Europe, and the United Kingdom. One of the key challenges faced in exports is the need to stay updated with and comply with changing regulations in each country.
