ISM Code (International Ship Management)
The ISM Code had been developed as a reaction to an alarming escalation of accidents and claims during the 1980�s � many of which were high profile and were the subject of concern by the general public as well as the shipping and insurance industries. The purpose of the Code was to make ships safer and seas cleaner. Human factors had been identified as the major problem. Almost all ships and ship operating companies around the world had to comply with the ISM Code and had to be certified to prove that they were compliant � if they did not then they could not trade.

ISPS(International Ship and Port Facility Security)
In essence, the Code takes the approach that ensuring the security of ships and port facilities is basically a risk management activity and that to determine what security measures are appropriate, an assessment of the risks must be made in each particular case.
The purpose of the Code is to provide a standardized, consistent framework for evaluating risk, enabling governments to offset changes in threat with changes in vulnerability for ships and port facilities.

Q-Mark (certificate number 027)
By specifying or selecting a Q-Marked product you can be assured that it has demonstrated the required performance levels through independent, accredited testing or appraisal and that every product manufactured offers the same level of performance through an approved quality management system.
Performance and production continue to be regularly checked through audit testing and inspections.
